Leadership Development

Sigma Chi Leadership Institute

The Sigma Chi Leadership Institute (SCLI) is an accredited 501(c)(3) non-degree granting learning service provider that partners with Greek-letter organizations and institutions of higher learning to provide leadership education and development, which enhances the skills and knowledge of undergraduate students, faculty, and staff.

SCLI develops a range of award-winning programming based on the Transformational Leadership framework. 95% of students who completed an SCLI certificate program reported that it helped them succeed professionally, while 96% report that it benefited them outside the workplace.

Every new member of Sigma Chi will complete SCLI's Foundational Leadership certificate program. Brothers also have the opportunity to complete additional courses and certificate programs, such as the True North Leadership, Values-Based Leadership, Servant Leadership, and Adaptive Leadership programs.

Krach Transformational Leaders Workshop

Sigma Chi has held an annual three-day leadership training workshop since 1947. In years past, the focus was on training newly-elected chapter officers for success in their roles. (This function is now handled virtually through the Officer Training Academy program.)

Thanks to an endowment from Keith Krach - who joined Sigma Chi at Purdue in the 1970s and served as Sigma Chi's 64th international president from 2005 to 2007 - the workshop has seen a major overhaul. Now known as the Krach Transformational Leaders Workshop (KTLW), it is an annual opportunity for undergraduate Sigs from across the US and Canada to come together and learn from each other and from an amazing alumni faculty team.

In 2025, Sigs from Martin completed the following programs at KTLW:

  • Preston Hodge (class of 2027): True North Leadership certificate
  • Brandon Mochrie (class of 2027): Servant Leadership certificate and Ritual Peer 2.0 certification
  • Gabe Speer (class of 2026): Servant Leadership certificate and Ritual Peer 2.0 certification
  • Adam Francis (Chapter Advisor, class of 2007): Chapter Advisor Training and Ritual Peer 2.0 certification

Horizons Huntsman Leadership Summit

In 1999, Sigma Chi launched Horizons: a six-day leadership development experience for qualified undergraduates held annually in Snowbird, Utah. Attendance has grown from 48 students in the pilot program to more than 250 participants each year. In 2014, it was renamed the Horizons Huntsman Leadership Summit, thanks to a generous endowment from Jon Huntsman Sr., the founder of the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Career Advantage and Learning Consortium

The Sigma Chi Career Advantage program offers free résumé reviews, mentoring, and other career resources to all Sigma Chi undergraduates.

The Sigma Chi Learning Consortium offers free webinars for all members - undergraduates and alumni - on a range of topics for personal and professional development.
