The Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) is a cancer research and treatment facility at the University of Utah. It was founded in 1995 through a $100 million dollar pledge from Jon Huntsman Sr., who joined Sigma Chi while a student at the University of Pennsylvania. It is designated by the National Cancer Institute as the Comprehensive Cancer Center for the Intermountain West region.

In April 2025, Sigma Chi announced a new partnership with the American Red Cross. This partnership officially kicked off with a blood drive at the annual Krach Transformational Leaders Workshop on July 30, and it will bring blood drives to campuses across the country in the month of October.
We are excited to lead a blood drive in Martin this fall!

The Brothers of the UT Martin chapter engage in a number of philanthropic and community service efforts throughout the year.
Every year, we hold a week-long fundraiser called Derby Days - a name that hearkens back to the "Channingway Derby" held by the UC Berkeley chapter in 1922. Events held during last year's Derby Days included a Veterans Day memorial service, "Coin Wars," a "Decorate a Cooler" contest, a Call-athon, and a Greek Life volleyball tournament.
